{ Athens, Ohio } Strouds Gun.

I met some cool guys at the gun range at Stouds Run State Park this afternoon while working on my gun culture essay. I shot them, an AK-47 and a fiberglass man. All in all, a good day.

I'm corny.

{ Starr, Ohio } Through the Woods.

I think this image is a good segue from the last one.

During my search for a shooting range, which doesn't actually exist, I did a pan with the trees and fog.

{ Athens, Ohio } The Last Light.

I made Danielle stand out in the cold the other night for a lighting assignment. She was awesome about it.

Four days later the picture means something very different to me. Life keeps evolving, my friends are growing up and the eloquence of time never ceases to amaze me.

Love,
Noah

{ New Plymouth, Ohio } David.

This is David, a 17-year-old from a very small rural town that I have been trailing and photographing for about 2 weeks. He is a great guy and now a good friend. His life is really interesting to me for a reason that I can't quite put my finger on. He has 2 girl friends, does drugs, and is in out of rehab on a regular basis. He is leading a life that can't go on forever. I see an end to his lifestyle coming very soon.

In this image he is newly on house arrest. He took a drug test yesterday and failed again. He will be sitting in this chair looking out this window until the 22nd. He is allowed to go to school and nothing else. We spent about a half an hour sitting in a friends car in David's driveway joking about their drunken weekend. I need an audio recorder.

{ Athens, Ohio } Dumpster.

Mommy... Why is that nice lady laying in the trash?

I really shouldn't be spending my 1AMs taking pictures like this.

{ New Plymouth, Ohio } First Entry.

I've decided to make the first post one of my favorites from the last few weeks of shooting. I made this while working on a story about a grandmother who is the sole caretaker for 5 grandchildren. She's amazing.

This is on the way to a family member's house a few miles down the road. We all piled into this little sedan, I basically had two little kids on my lap, and I think there are seven people in this frame. So what is that? 11 or 12 people in a little Buick. I felt like I was in India, except we are in Appalachia and I doubt many Indians know who Betty Boop is. I could be wrong.
